4th Annual Community Garden Conference
For the fourth consecutive year, The Friends of The Frelinghuysen Arboretum and Rutgers Cooperative Extension team up to present their Community Garden Conference.
Every year, more and more community gardens are springing up all across the country and the need to have a conference has never been more pressing for those of us in the tri-state area. Meet other gardeners, expand your gardening knowledge, find out what is working and what is not in other gardens and become part of a wonderful network of community gardeners.
The impressive list of speakers, all experts in their field, will be covering topics like Using Row Covers for Insect Control and Season Extension, Seed Starting, Growing Herbs, Vertical Vegetable Gardening and Trellis Making, Roundtable Discussions for Garden Coordinators, Organic Control of Vegetable Diseases and much more! Keynote speaker Ellen Ecker Ogden is co-founder of The Cook’s Garden Seed Catalog and author of “The Complete Kitchen Garden”, “From the Cook’s Garden” and “The Vermont Cheese Book.”
On display in our Gallery will be photographer George Hirose’s beautiful night-time images of community gardens, which will be a treat in itself.
More details are in the brochure (click on image).
Lunch is provided through the generosity of the Greater Morristown Shop-Rite and the snow date for this conference is Sunday, March 2.
