Plant Dividends - a Benefit of Membership
This year's Plant Sale features foliage plants, so each of our dividend plants is a desireable foliage plant for your garden. Your dividend (one or two plants, depending on your level of membership) may be picked up at the Friday evening Members-only Plant Sale (May 3rd) or at the main sale, Saturday and Sunday May 4 & 5), or at the Haggerty Education Center from Monday May 6th through Friday May 11th, from 9am - 4:30pm.
Following are this year's dividend selection:Heucher Miracle
This excellent border plant, ground cover or container plant grows 8-10 in. tall and thrives in sun or shade.
Sedum Dazzleberry
Smoky blue leaves with raspberry mid-summer flowers requires good drainage, grows to 8 in. tall with a spread of 18 in., and makes a great edger or ground cover.
Sedum Zinger
This deer-resistant, drought-tolerant sedum flowers in late summer. It requires good drainage, thrives in containers or rock gardens.
Dinosaur kale
Also known as Black kale or Tuscan kale, it is a hardy cooking green as well as a definite asset in the garden. It can also be grown in containers.
Nasella Tenuissima
Mexican feather grass grows 12-24 in tall in full sun. It is delicate and graceful, swaying in the slightest breeze. Combine with tall sedums and asters.
