Announcements as of January 7, 2014

The Friends of Frelinghuysen Arboretum are proud to host dozens of events in the coming weeks, ranging from exhibits to photo classes to tours to informative programs on gardens and horticulture.

Please browse there at your leisure, but here are some upcoming events that we would like to highlight.

Butterflies Rescheduled

Due to the extreme cold weather, the NABA meeting scheduled for January 7 has been moved to Wednesday, January 15.

Hearts and Flowers

The upcoming “Pressed Flower Workshop” is full, but you can still register for Marge Hulstrunk’s other classes, such as “Hearts and Flowers,” on Tuesday, February 11. Register here.

Community Garden Conference Coming Soon

Vegetable seeds catalogs are filling our mail boxes – so the Community Garden Conference cannot be far behind!

Registration is brisk – if you are considering attending, we suggest you register now to insure that you can attend the break out sessions of most interest to you. Register here for this Saturday, March 1st program.

Photo Scavenger Hunt

January’s Photo Scavenger Hunt is on – the theme is Black and White, perfect for a snowy day.

Join us on weekends for the family fun.

TANKED: Indoor Aquatic Gardens

And now for something completely different: TANKED: Indoor Aquatic Gardens is not your everyday garden program.

Members of the New Jersey Aquatic Gardeners Club are plants geeks of the watery kind. If images of a deep sea diver bubbling away with a goldfish is the image your mind is conjuring, prepare to be astonished at the beauty and horticultural depth (no pun intended) that these tanks present. Bring along a young person and start a lifetime’s hobby!

Register here for this Saturday, February 22nd program.

Snowflakes: Positively Unique
