Newsletter Glitch

As several of you noted, you got a strange email from the Friends today. I am in the midst of changing servers and accidentally sent a test mail to the live mailing list. No, it was not spam and no, it did not mean that an evil hacker gang had commandeered the Friends' webserver for their mysterious and nefarious purposes. Happily it only meant that your webmaster was having a senior moment.

Arboretum Leaves

By now, members have gotten their copy of the Spring 2010 Arboretum Leaves. Hopefully you are doing your bit for the environment and are getting it electronically. As an added bonus if you do, you get it a few days earlier than the mailed paper one. Sign up for the electronic version (as an easy-to-open pdf), by emailing Ann Abrams with "Paperless Arboretum Leaves" in the subject line.

By the way, all the programs as well as the latest sign-up sheet are posted on the Events page of our website. Check there for the up-to-date status of all our events and programs.

Dozens of programs are listed in our Events Calendar, but here are a few you may want to check out and add to your calendar:

• It Starts with the Soil (Thursday, March 25th) - learn the basics of soil composition, plant needs and fundamentals of fertilizer with Mark Zukovich.
• Growing Small Fruits (Thursday, April 1st) - Peter Nitzsche, Morris County's Agricultural Extension Agent and our resident tomato and small fruit expert will show you how to grow them in your backyard.
• 11th Annual Blackburn Scholarship Tea (Wednesday, April 7th) - this year's presenters are acclaimed floral designers Debbie Budd and Mary Ryan from The Rose and Radish in Whitehouse Station.
• Friends Annual Plant Sale Members-only Party & Sale (Friday, April 30th) - the biggest and best plant sale of the year!
