Vegetable Garden Series: Putting the Garden to Bed
Beginning and intermediate vegetable gardeners will appreciate the tips and information, plus free broccoli starts for your fall veggie garden! Saturday, Sept. 15th.
An Apple A Day
And on Sunday, September 16, teen cooks will make their own applesauce, pies and tarts. What a great gift for your favorite teen when they really need a respite from the stress of the first weeks of school!
Bring the Butterflies to You
There have been a lot of butterflies here at The Frelinghuysen this month. To get the scoop on what is happening, come to Bring the Butterflies to You on Sunday, Oct. 7th. Sharon and Wade Wander frequently lead field trips and present programs for the North American Butterfly Association. Their talk is free, but you must register. It’s child friendly, so bring a kid along and start a lifelong interest off right.
Thanksgiving Is On Our Minds
and we have some wonderful programs in advance of the holiday:
- What’s Thanksgiving with cranberries? Learn some new takes on this bountiful berry at Cranberry Central on Sunday, November 4 with resident chef Cynthia Triolo.
- Looking for a neat Thanksgiving Day centerpiece? Let your child create it at A Child’s Thanksgiving Dish Centerpiece on Sunday, November 18.
Other great fall activities include our Fall Scavenger Hunts for the Whole Family. It’s “Nuts to You” in October – remember to bring your camera!

The Friends Are Going to Ireland in 2013
