Upcoming Events
Matilda's Tea
Matilda's Tea on Saturday, February 4 is fast approaching. Young ladies take home 2 large tea sachets, tea party invitations, a set of fancy teaspoons and some spiffy napkin folding techniques.
After this Tea, they'll be ready to host their own -- perhaps for Valentines Day! Tables are filling, so register now.
Blackburn Scholarship Tea
A very adult tea and topic await you at the Blackburn Scholarship Tea on Wednesday, March 28. Speaker Andre Fillipone is an accomplished garden designer and environmentalist. Her talk on sustainability and garden aesthetics is followed by delicious refreshments and an opportunity to purchase select garden antiques.
In the Mood for Some Arts and Crafts?
Need an adult play date? Come along and Create Your Own Mosaic Trivet on Saturday, February 18. Bring something personal to incorporate and really make it your own.
What a neat gift for a daughter or niece!
All About Ivy
If you think of ivy as a container filler or boring ground cover -- think again! Ivy is the STAR on Sunday, February 12. Ivy Society President Russell Windle can answer all your questions and has lots of star-quality cultivars too for sale.
Ivy is easy to propagate, so bring a friend to the program and if each of your buys a cultivar or two, you will soon double your collection!
Resource Section
There is a new fact sheet in our website's Resource section: Plants for Winter Interest. Go to the webpage to get this handy list of plants.
Now is the time to register for winter classes, teas and bus trips! Programs at the Arboretum are many and varied. Get ready for Spring with classes on vegetable gardening, prepare for our Annual Plant Sale, learn about ivy, hear about our rare garden books -- all this and more throughout the year.
How to Keep Up With the Arboretum
If you are new to the Frelinghuysen Arboretum, keeping up with all the activities may seem daunting. Here are a few suggestions:
- Browse our website regularly. We work hard at updating it regularly.
- Look especially at two sections that change regularly: our Events Page and our News Page. The first provides a detailed listing of programs scheduled for the next few months, including facilities for scheduling and purchasing on-line. The second contains brief news items about what is going on at the Arboretum.
- Become a member -- one of the many benefits is a regular newsletter, Arboretum Leaves available either in paper or pdf. See below for link.
- Sign up for our regular email newsletter.
