Members Only New Year’s Party

Frederick Law Olmsted: Environmental Visionary

Since the time of Central Park’s creation, people have visited Frederick Law Olmsted’s parks and public gardens in more than 5000 communities across the North America. His goal was to give the common man in this “New World” the same opportunity to experience creation as any King in his private preserve.

This first person, dramatic presentation features the “Father of Landscape Architecture” brought to life by Kirk R. Brown. Kirk is an author, horticulturist, designer, international lecturer and an Executive Officer for Garden Writers Association. He and his recreations of John Bartram and Frederick Law Olmsted have appeared at international conferences and symposia and dozens of lectures. Kirk’s landscape designs have won awards from PPA, PHS and PLNA – his message of sustainability is carried throughout all of his work. He can be read at www.JohnBartramLives.com.

The Friend’s delicious array of comestibles follows the talk.
