About the Judges

Nancy Ori

Nancy J. Ori has been respected for over three decades as a corporate photographer and video producer for New Jersey Media Center LLC in Berkeley Heights, NJ. She also enjoys teaching at photography classes and workshops in the US and Europe as well as tutoring privately throughout the year. She was affiliated for many years with the Ansel Adams Workshop in CA and is presently on the faculty and regular lecturer at many of the local art centers and museums. Visit her website here.

In 1990, she established the New Jersey Heritage Workshop Series, which she holds annually in Cape May for photographers and other artists. A six-time grant winner from the Union County Board of Chosen Freeholders to produce photographic projects for her community, Nancy was also awarded the Woman of Excellence Award in Arts and Humanities for Union County in 2004. Ori's work has been widely published and exhibited in museums and galleries throughout the United States and Europe. She holds a BA degree in Fine Arts and an MS degree in Visual Communications from Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, NY.

Douglas Underdahl

Douglas Underdahl is a designer of motion picture equipment, author, teacher, director of photography, and director. His company Long Valley Equipment manufactures the industry standard Seven Jib, Super Track Dolly, and R8 lens conversion, and he designed and fabricated equipment for the deep dive photography in TITANIC. Long Valley is an Original Equipment Manufacturer for the RED camera company, designing and fabricating the RED Nikon mount. Douglas authored THE 16MM CAMERA BOOK and has contributed to ICOM and IN MOTION magazines, and THE AMERICAN CINEMATOGRAPHER MANUAL.

He has taught film production at New York University, School of Visual Arts, the New York Film Academy, and the International Film and Television Workshops in Maine. As director, his short films - including one produced for SATURDAY NIGHT LIVE - have won numerous awards. He directed FILM SCHOOL CONFIDENTIAL, a feature shot in 35mm that premiered at Rotterdam International Film Festival and played at 12 other festivals in 8 countries, and won 3 awards including Best Screenplay at Winecountry, Best Feature, Staff Award at Houston Worldfest, and was named a Critic's Pick by the New York Times.

Bruce Wodder

Award-winning photographer Bruce Wodder has been shooting commercially for 25 years. Originally based in New York City, he has worked primarily on corporate and advertising assignments. His clients have included Prudential, AT&T,TIAA-CREF, Nike, Bell Labs, and Hilton Hotels among many others.

For the last fifteen years Bruce's career has expanded to include work as a Director of Photography shooting television commercials, documentaries, shorts and independent films, and stock footage for Getty Images. His stock footage has been used in thousands of television commercials.

Bruce's work has taken him around the world, throughout Europe, Asia, Africa and South America as well as the United States. His black and white images represent his personal vision, the photographs he takes for his own pleasure both on assignment and off. Bruce is a master printer of black and white silver gelatin prints, in medium and large format.

Haggerty Education Center - 9:00 am to 4:30 pm every day of the week (except holidays). It is also open for participants in scheduled events at other times.
