Water Plants at Last

Last year, though we tried, we were unsuccessful in getting water plants. This year it looks like the problems associated with their delivery and display have been solved. We can now respond to the requests of a growing number of people who have added a water feature to their garden, whether it is an in-ground pond or a water trough or other container.

Our list includes iris, water lilies, lotus and a variety of bog plants. We ordered a new to market Iris called ‘Royal Princess’ with a stunning white and purple blossom with faint yellow-tinged veining. The water lilies ‘Diana’ (a pure white) and ‘Colorado’ (a faint pink) are spectacular. We have two miniature water lily varieties: ‘Pink Beauty’ and ‘Helvola’ (an extra small yellow) that are just adorable. The Lotuses ‘Chastity’ (fuchsia) and ‘Daintiest’ (rose-like white with faint pink tipped petals) will knock your socks off.

All plants are either perennial or tender perennials if you are in zone 5. It is a little too early in the season to offer you tropicals on the advice of our grower. Each of the water plants purchased comes with a care sheet.
