What's in Bloom Update

Phil Dahlen, our What's in Bloom volunteer writes, "One of my favorite gardens, The Cottage Perennial Garden, is still beautiful with so many dramatic, colorful plants in bloom even now at the end of summer." Along with that, he sent the latest update of the What's in Bloom list. Use it as a guide to the floral splendor this week at the Arboretum.

Sundowner Tour

Sundowner Tour - Sept. 18, 2009I was fortunate enough to have signed up for a Sundowner Tour at the Arboretum last Friday evening. These tours are staged periodically in that magically lighted time around sundown and are led by one or another of the Arboretum's Plantsmen, this time Scott Scarafile.

New Website

The Friends of The Frelinghuysen Arboretum is proud to present its new website. Powered by the drupal content management system, this site will make our job of presenting up-to-date information about events and activities at the Arboretum easier than ever to publish. Hopefully, you will also find it useful and pleasant to look at.

While we have spent a lot of time trying to make this roll-out flawless, there are bound to be some glitches, so let me know if you encounter one and I will get it fixed as soon as possible.

The Summer That Wasn't

Here we are in early September already after a very un-summerlike summer! The plants are happy, though, having had lots of rainy days, so use the Labor Day weekend for a walk around the gardens at the Frelinghuysen Arboretum.

Volunteer Phil Dahlen has once again updated the In Bloom list so you can plan your visit around the showiest areas.

Using a GPS to Find the Arboretum

GPS's are far from infallible and their use to get to the Frelinghuysen Arboretum is no exception where our mailing address is in Morristown while our physical address is in Morris Township. Be sure to use the latter for entry into your GPS when traveling to see the gardens. The two addresses are on the bottom of this page, and the physical address is repeated on the Directions page.

We look forward to seeing you at the Arboretum, so matter what means your use to get here.
