COMMUNITY GARDEN CONFERENCE A GREAT SUCCESS

The 13th Annual Community Garden Conference this past Saturday was a great success. Thank you to all who participated either in person or virtually; those attending in person had the opportunity to meet the Keynote Speaker, Dr. William Woys Weaver, as well as purchase one of his many books and have him sign it.

The general consensus was that it was great to be back at the Haggerty Education Center in person for this annual event.

WE'RE LOOKING FOR PLANT SALE VOLUNTEERS

Want to get involved and learn more about the plants at this year's Plant Sale? Volunteer to help us set up prior to the sale May 1 - 5 as well as during the sale May 5 - 7.

TODAY AT THE FRELINGHUYSEN ARBORETUM

This week's photos offer a wide variety of late winter images. The persistent, dry, paper thin leaves of an American Beech tree (Fagus grandifolia), fluttering in the breeze and soon to be pushed off by fresh new growth. The evergreen, yellowish, flat foliage sprays of a Sawara Cypress (Chamaecyparis pisifera cv. Filifera Aurea) adding a bright spot in the landscape. The delicate, deep pink flowers of an espaliered Japanese Apricot (Prunus Mume cv. Kobai) blooming against the walls of the Carriage House. Spring is on its way!
