The Art of Growing English Sweet Peas with Matt Mattus

Matt Mattus’ lifelong passion for horticulture is evident in everything he chooses to do. He is presently a board member of the Tower Hill Botanic Garden and president of the North American Rock Garden Society. He is a member of the Scottish Rock Garden Club, the Alpine Garden Society (UK), the American Primrose Society (past editor), and founder of the New England Dahlia Society, to name a few. He also speaks frequently at botanic gardens and plant societies about his passions which include a wide range of topics ranging from South African Bulbs to nineteenth century conservatory plants to high-elevation alpines.

Matt’s long history and fascination with sweet peas, in some way, began before he was even born – as his parents and grandparents raised them in what is now his garden. His passion led to the development of this lecture and has garnered rave reviews nationwide.

Each attendee will receive a packet of sweet pea seeds to take home.
