Here are some great events in the next couple of weeks:
Now is the ideal time to start your bulb planting for next spring's enjoyment. The Friends are here to help with some nice Pink Ribbon Narcissus at $5 per bag of 5 bulbs, as displayed in the cart in the lobby of the Haggerty Center.
Better yet, 10% of the proceeds go to fight breast cancer.
Do you just love snow peas? You can have your fill by May, grown right in your own backyard.
Come Wednesday, October 6th at 7pm to learn the easy steps you can take now to have a garden that's ready to plant with spring vegetables in March.
Find that spot in your yard that gets 6 or more hours of sunlight a day and start dreaming. Virginia Lamb, composting guru and environmental educator, will cover topics that include soil preparation and amendments, cover crops and mulching, and seed and plant selection for successive crops.
Presenter Marc Zukovich, President of Sterling Horticultural Services and Professor at County College of Morris, is a gifted speaker and incredibly knowledgeable on all topics horticultural. His talk on Friday, October 15th on bulbs is one of the best. There will be bulbs for sale (cash or checks only) following the talk.
