IMG_6607-thMoving Toward Summer

The Friends Garden Tour of Scotland ended a week ago having visited numerous public and private gardens in Glasgow, Edinburgh and the Borders area of Scotland. I think everyone had a great time and I will post pictures from the trip later this week.

In the meantime, this past Sunday was the Friends Annual Meeting and election of new officers. Congratulations to outgoing and incoming officers. The meeting was capped off by a wonderful concert by the Masterwork Camerata, the first of several different concerts this summer.

Our What's in Bloom list is updated regularly so check it out and take a few minutes from your busy schedules and walk around the Frelinghuysen Arboretum soon. Nature's splendor is worth pausing for regularly.

Take advantage of the great events at the Arboretum this Spring. All our great Summer programs are up on the Events page of our website. Browse them there and sign up on-line while there is still room.

Garden-inspired Mosaic Jewelry

Join us this Wednesday, June 15th, for a class with Eleanor Parr-DiLeo teaching the basics of jewelry making using mosaics. Create your very own beautiful garden inspired mosaic pendant. No art or mosaic experience is required. An additional materials fee of $15 is payable to the instructor. Students may bring items from home to incorporate into the piece.

Gardening for a Lifetime with Sydney Eddison

On Wednesday, June 22nd garden writer Sydney Eddison's newest book "Gardening for a Lifetime" takes on the challenge of how to garden wiser as we grow older. Her lectures are carefully crafted, deeply rewarding and the product of two decades of teaching drama and a lifetime of gardening. Avail yourself of this opportunity to hear one of the superstars of horticulture's message of rest, renewal and hope for your garden and for you. Ms. Eddison will be signing books after the lecture.
