What's So Great About...Herbs


This gardening series takes an informal look at a specific aspect of the gardens of the Arboretum.

Next up: Herb Gardens! Tour our herb garden and discover unusual herbs like germander and chervil growing alongside some great varieties of old favorites. Discuss how to grow them, when to harvest them, and how to store them.

Grow Your Groceries: Garlic Scapes


Jeanne will focus on growing techniques, which varieties of garlic produce scapes, what function they perform and when and how to harvest them.

Once harvested, Cynthia prepares a few dishes using the scapes for you to taste, and shares storage tips and cooking methods. Recipes and breath mints accompany the talk.
