BIBLICAL BOTANY WALKING TOUR

BiblicalBotanyWalkingTour2018-th

Sunday, September 16

View The Frelinghuysen Arboretum’s plant collections through the lens of the Old Testament.

Dr. Jon Greenberg returns to The Frelinghuysen for the fifth year to run this very popular walk through more than 5,000 years of history. His knowledge of botany and the Talmud combine to make a fascinating walk, even for experienced horticulturists.

Learn something new from a very old source and earn 1.5 Rutgers Master Gardener CEU’s in the process. It’s a win/win situation!

Click the flyer for details and on-line registration.

HAIKU IN THE GARDEN: JOURNALING AND CRAFTING WITH DR. DEBORAH GERRISH

HaikuInTheGarden2018-th

Saturday, September 29

Writing Haiku is one of the traditional arts and what better milieu to compose this spare and uncluttered form than in the gardens of The Frelinghuysen Arboretum.

Please bring pen and notebook to the workshop.

Click the flyer for details and on-line registration.

SEEING FLOWERS: DISCOVER THE HIDDEN LIFE OF FLOWERS

SeeingFlowers2018-th

Sunday, September 30

When we look really closely at a flower, whole new worlds of beauty and intricacy emerge. Teri Dunn Chace takes us on a journey that will make us feel we’re glimpsing the garden from an insect’s perspective.

A book sale and signing follow the lecture.
