We know people’s schedules are busy, so walk-ins to the speaker programs are welcome. However, early registration will guarantee you a seat and will help us plan.



Sunday, September 22

Take a guided tour of the gardens, or stroll the grounds using your cell phone to guide you. The Tubbs’ house will be open for a rare peek at the home life of botanizing brothers, Henry and Robert Tubbs. Get a glimpse of the decorative arts in the house.

Light refreshments are provided by the Willowwood Foundation.

View the Frelinghuysen Arboretum’s plant collections through the lens of the Old Testament.

Biologist, agronomist and Bible scholar, Dr. Jon Greenberg, walks us through more than 5,000 years of history as we tour the gardens at their fall peak.

Participants are welcome to bring in mushrooms they find in their yards to be identified by our experts. Many different interests are showcased at this event including: mushroom identification, toxicology, mushroom dyes for wool, paper making with fungus, mushroom cultivation, medicinal uses, and the ever popular cooking demonstration with exotic mushrooms from Phillips Mushroom Farm in Kennett Square.
