Grow Your Groceries: Early Summer Vegetables

Jeanne Lardino, Frelinghuysen Arboretum Gardener and Cynthia Triolo, Chef and Master Gardener team up to present programs focusing on the Barkman Vegetable Garden. We look at vegetables at their peak in the garden and discuss their requirements for optimal growth. They will have tips on harvesting, recipes to share and storage information.

Each program in this series is eligible for 1.5 Rutgers Master Gardener CEU’s.

These include green tomatoes, onions, garlic, radishes, carrots and more. We focus on growing techniques, best varieties, pest and disease management and how to harvest. Cynthia prepares a few dishes using the veggies for you to taste, focusing on storage and cooking methods. Recipes accompany the talk.
