The Botany and History of Holiday Desserts

Lecture by Dorothy Smullen

Do you know what is in your fruit cake, mince pie and plum pudding? You’ll enjoy learning the history and understanding the botany of these traditional holiday desserts. Recipes will most definitely be included with Dorothy’s talk.

Dorothy has been a nature and garden club speaker for 35 years. She is a retired high school science teacher, a teacher/naturalist at NJ Audubon, past president of NJ Mycological Association, and a former board member of the Friends of Great Swamp National Refuge. Following Dorothy’s talk, please join us for refreshments.
