Wildflower Walk at The Tourne

Sunday 04-27-14 12:00 am (Eastern) 1:00p - 3:00p

Location: Tourne Pavillion

FILLED

Have you visited the Tourne in the spring? Over 200 varieties of wildflowers thrive along its trail because of the unique habitat found there. Late April is the perfect time to encounter native plants like trout lilies, blue bells, trilliums, violets, blood root, wild azalea, jack in the pulpit, and bleeding hearts.

Lee Gaitskill of the Rockaway Valley Garden Club, which sponsors and maintains the Emilie K. Hammond Wildflower Trail at the Tourne County Park, takes us on a tour and shares her unique perspective. Meet at the Pavilion off of McCaffrey Lane near the ball field.
