How to pay for your Plant Sale Purchases
The Friends welcome many forms of payment at the Plant Sale including cash, checks and credit cards. We are unable to process Venmo or Zelle payments.
We do not charge a fee for credit card purchases, but we do pay a fee for their use.
For this reason, cash and checks are very welcome.
Also, we'll have shallow cardboard boxes at the sale for your use, but if you have a cart or even a nice bulb crate, consider putting your name on it and bringing it along to hold your selections while shopping. A holding pen will be set up next to the Pre Checkout Review tables.
Cercis canadensis, Eastern redbud
One of the prettiest early blooming small native trees is the redbud. The delicate, rosy pink to purple pea-like flowers appear on bare stems and trunks (a floral growth habit called cauliflory) before the attractive heart-shaped leaves unfurl.
The flowers attract a variety of pollinators from several types of bees to butterflies and the pollination results in peapod shaped fruit. Incidentally, the flowers are edible, can be added to salads and can be pickled as well.
Several of these beauties will be available for purchase.
