Spring is finally here and what better way to celebrate the season than with some recipes to take advantage of early spring produce. We’ll be using lavender, arugula, rhubarb and other spring veggies to make some new and interesting recipes that you’ll want to add to your repertoire.

Join Chef Cynthia Triolo for a fun afternoon, sample the goodies and take the recipes home to try your hand at them.

The Cooking Demonstration is limited to 24 participants. Please register early!

As in past years, there will be a special early shopping event – plus refreshments – for members only on Friday evening from 4:00 to 7:00 PM.

The Friends of The Frelinghuysen Arboretum invite you to our Annual Plant Sale during the first weekend in May.

Throughout the sale you will be able to get advice from local plant experts and to select from a huge variety of houseplants, annuals, perennials, shrubs and trees.

Dates and hours of the 2024 Plant Sale:

Saturday, May 4 – 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM

Sunday, May 5 – 12:00 Noon – 4:00 PM

Want to get involved and learn more about the plants at this year’s Plant Sale? Volunteer to help us set up prior to the sale April 29 – May 3 as well as during the sale May 4 – 5.

Join intrepid garden traveler, obsessive gardener and past Friends President, Sue Acheson, as
she takes us on a Zoom tour of “Botanic Gardens from Coast to Coast.” Sue will show seven
public gardens from California, Colorado, Missouri, Pennsylvania. and North Carolina, in all
seasons and in a broad range of climate zones.

With inspiring, beautiful photographs from each, Sue will show what we can learn from each of
these gardens to raise our home gardens to the next level.

All of these gardens are Sue’s favorites, along with many others she will save for another day.
