The Philadelphia Flower Show: Creating a Show Garden

Saturday 03-18-23 01:00 pm (Eastern)

Location: Haggerty Education Center

Ever wonder how show gardens are created? Susan Cohan Gardens, a show garden veteran, will show you how the display gardens at the Philadelphia Flower Show are designed and built. This is sure to be a fascinating presentation on what takes place behind the scenes and in preparation for an exhibit at the Show.

Susan Cohan, FAPLD, left a successful career in the fashion industry and founded Susan Cohan Gardens after earning a certificate in Garden Design from the English Gardening School at the Chelsea Physic Gardens in London. Named The Designer of the Year by the Association of Professional Landscape Designers in 2021, Susan is the principal and design director of Susan Cohan Gardens, a full-service landscape design studio located in the New York/New Jersey metro area.

From small courtyards to large country estates, the studio is dedicated to the creation of exceptional residential outdoor living spaces and gardens. Susan and her team have created landscape designs for discerning regional and international clients. The finished results are frequently published and have won numerous awards, including the 2022 Pennsylvania Horticultural Society’s Gold and Silver Trophy for her entry in 2022’s Philadelphia Flower Show (photo at right).
